Scandinavian luxe children’s bedroom

The Brief:

The client wanted to create an exuberant and fun children’s bedroom. They wanted to create a space that would grow with their child for at least the next 5 years. It was important to keep the walls neutral to maximise the space, but they still wanted to include splashes of colour and create a high-end look without spending too much money.

The Solution:

Sofie kept the room monochrome, adding some of her signature sunshine to the room with brave pops of strong mustard yellow hues across the statement ceiling and accessories. Contrasting textures, tribal details and pattern were cleverly sourced, while other bespoke pieces were crafted by hand, such as a wallpapered chest of drawers and personalised blinds.

The original space had some beautiful period features, so she decided to paint it in the striking mustard hue to tie it into the rest of the colour palette. Wall decals were also applied to the fireplace tiles, which can also easily be removed as needed.

The result? A bold and fun room that will continue to successfully evolve as the child moves through different stages, from the toddler to the teenage years. It was featured in Project Nursery and Apartment Therapy in a ‘Top 10 Kids Interiors’ round up.
