The Brief:
To create a bold, yet sophisticated, adult bedroom.
The existing room lacked space for traditional storage, bedside tables and lamps alongside a king-size bed, so it was important to include all these elements.
We wanted to blend contemporary design with traditional features, enhancing their Edwardian home’s creative soul.
The Solution:
Sofie started tackling the lack of storage by designing bespoke wardrobes with sliding doors to save space. Compact, wall-hung bedside tables were fitted to maximise floor space and allow full access to the wardrobes.
Wired lamps were also mounted to the wall to add much-needed light, becoming a design feature in their own right.
A bold teal and pink colour palette lifted the Edwardian panelling into the 21st century, while still managing to maintain a calming environment. Hand dyed bed linens and nature-inspired accessories added contrasting patterns and rich textures, bringing depth to the space.
The finished boudoir was featured in Sunday Times Home and House Beautiful.
